Friday was a beautiful, sunny day - perfect for our traditional graduation in the Lincoln High bowl. We are proud of our graduates and wish them all the best in their future journeys. You will ALWAYS be welcome back at Lincoln - come back and visit your teachers and share your life experiences with future classes of students.
Is your signature in the historic Lincoln High tower?
About 45 students got the rare opportunity to climb a winding staircase to the top of the tower May 11 and witness decades of history created by alumni. Among their sights: hundreds of student names and their graduation years scrawled on brick walls, window sills and ceiling supports.

"Looking over the view of the city was great," senior Alexandria Bessert said. "This is my senior year, so I'm thinking about the school and my time here. I think they should keep the tower. I want my kids to come here someday and see it for themselves."
The Manitowoc Public School District is one of just 23 districts in Wisconsin named as "2017 Best Communities for Music Education."
Nationally, only 4% of districts (527) received the designation from the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation.
"We are very excited and honored," Kati Seiter, music teacher at Washington Jr. High School, said in this Herald Times Reporter story. "We're fortunate to have district leaders and a community that strongly support music and the arts."
About 3,000 of the 5,200 students in the Manitowoc Public School District participate in music programs.

Congratulations to three MPSD schools honored as Wisconsin Title 1 Schools of Recognition for their efforts in educating low-income students.
Representatives from Franklin and Madison Elementary Schools and Washington Jr. High School received the award in the state Capitol on May 1. It was Madison's sixth consecutive year earning the recognition from the state Department of Public Instruction.
